104-Year-Old 49er faithful looking forward to another Super Bowl win
Celebrating the Faithful and their passion for the region’s oldest professional sports team, the San Francisco 49ers launched the Faithful to The Bay brand campaign in 2020 to mark the next chapter in the franchise’s storied history.
The Faithful to The Bay campaign celebrates the unwavering commitment of the team’s fans throughout the Bay Area, Northern California, and worldwide.
To the Faithful, the 49ers are more than a team, it’s a way of life and touchstone for lifelong memories with friends, family, and fellow Faithful. Similarly, the Faithful to The Bay campaign will demonstrate the team’s commitment to fans both on gameday and year-round.
“Faithful to The Bay is more than a motto for the 49ers, it’s a unifying idea for the Faithful throughout the world. It embodies the shared commitment our fans and our team have to each other and our community at large,” said Alex Chang, 49ers Chief Marketing Officer.
“Together, we all take pride in representing the Bay and the ideals that define us: inclusion, innovation, and achievement.”
Mary Alasia, a 49er Faithful fan, has seen it all when it comes to the franchise’s highs and lows, who has been a 49ers fan ever since the team came into existence.
Of all the 49ers football games she’s attended, Alasia said her fondest memories are about her friends and family who went with her.
“We’d gather before the game. We’d have a BBQ, everybody brought something. We had all of the celebrations before and after. It was nice because we were all able to celebrate together,” Alasia said.
Her favorite player over the years? Joe Montana, of course. “And then we went to Steve [Young] and I kind of had, he had to grow on me,” she said. “Then after a while, he was in the group.”
The Super Bowl wins certainly helped keep her like a long, longtime fan. “And they were happy when they won, and we were, too!” said Alasia. “We’d go out after the game and have a drink on ’em.”
