Stunning Singapore drone light show to Usher in the New Year of 2023 at Marina Bay Singapore
At the stroke of midnight, Singapore ushered in 2023 with the highly anticipated countdown fireworks at the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2023, presented by the Urban Redevelopment Authority. Making its return after a two-year hiatus, the spectacular fireworks heralded renewed hope and exuberance for Singapore in the new year.
Spirits ran high from day to night, as an exciting line-up of programs and activities took place around Marina Bay. A musical extravaganza at STAR ISLAND featured award-winning fireworks that dazzled the crowd, while the inspiring Share the Moment light projections warmed the hearts of many.
At the stroke of midnight, revelers feasted their eyes on a spectacular seven-minute world-class fireworks display in addition to an exciting drone show.
In the Show, drones created a waving Singaporean flag in the skies above Marina Bay, creating dancing lights in the sky and various shapes to enhance the already impressive fireworks display creating a one-of-a-kind spectacular where both fireworks and drones were used side by side to light up the night sky.
It has been speculated that drones could be used as a low-emission alternative to fireworks which increase air pollution all around the world on New Year’s Eve.
With the growing popularity of drone light shows and the growing prominence of environmental concerns from the use of conventional fireworks, drone light shows could certainly offer an exciting opportunity as the stars of the show.
Debuting In 2020 for the first time in Marina Bay, drones took to the skies to wow audiences, creating what was believed to be the first combined fireworks/drone performance in the world.
