The Man seeks the hero who saved his life at RTD station
AURORA, Colorado — A good Samaritan was caught on camera stopping a man with a cane from walking in front of an oncoming train.
The CCTV footage shows the blind man carrying a briefcase and approaching the yellow line at a crossing while waving his walking stick.
He seems unaware that just moments away a train is about to pass into the light railway station at Peoria in the town.
The man, named Mike Wyatt, was about to walk over the tracks when the hero ran up behind him and grabbed him.
Just seconds later, a train passes through.
Once the train passed, everyone went on with their day.
Wyatt is seen to thank the passer-by for the timely intervention before crossing safely once the train has gone.
But now he wants to track down the man who he says saved his life, and the footage has been released by the Regional Transportation District in a bid to help his search.
He has taken to the same crossing with a sign which reads: “I’m looking for the young man who saved my life.”
Wyatt has now started a search to track down the stranger who helped him but admits he knows nothing about him.
He said: “I am so stoked right now thinking that guy is going to come down that ramp from the platform.
“It really feels like someone is watching over me. I will always be remembering this man and his kindness.
“You live and you die. It’s what you do in between, and this young man did a great thing for me and that’s what I want to say to him ‘thank you.’”
Wyatt says the man has afforded him a chance to watch his seven grandchildren grow up.
