Yashraj Chhabra, a 26-year-old banking specialist, orchestrated an unforgettable moment to declare his love for his girlfriend, Riiya Shukla. The heartfelt message rang out over the airport’s public address system, leaving passengers and onlookers in awe.
Despite feeling a surge of nerves, Chhabra was determined to create a memory that would forever be etched in Shukla’s heart. The couple, friends for nearly eight years, recently took the leap into a romantic relationship. Chhabra shared, “She’s a hard woman to surprise, and I really wanted to catch her off guard. While Shukla hails from Auckland, Chhabra’s journey led him to New Zealand from India eight years ago. Now, Shukla intends to move back to Auckland from Melbourne, marking the beginning of their shared journey.
Chhabra, overjoyed by the positive response, exclaimed, “Like any nervous guy about to do something a bit crazy like this, I’m so pleased and hugely relieved, she said yes. It’s a very happy time for the two of us, and I do feel like the luckiest guy in the world.”
