National Coffee Day: What’s it all about?
Each year on the 29th of September, coffee lovers across the United States and Canada celebrate National Coffee Day. They are joined by coffee enthusiasts from 16 other countries across the world. There are also nine other dates before September 29 when other countries hold their own National Coffee Day festivities.
Coffee is one of the world’s most popular beverages. Countless individuals across the world enjoy the drink in its many forms and they do so daily. The history of coffee is a storied one that extends back to at least the 15th century. As far as official National Coffee Day celebrations, the first one on record was held in Japan in 1983. It is a practice that was quickly adopted by many other countries.
When it comes to the history of National Coffee Day in the United States and Canada, the decision to have it take place at the end of September seems to be a reminder that summer is coming to an end.
There are a lot of ways that you can celebrate National Coffee Day and make the most of it. If you run your own restaurant or coffee shop, consider offering some National Coffee Day-themed promotions.
In Oklahoma City, OK, Love’s Travel Stops is celebrating National Coffee Day by offering customers any sized coffee or hot beverage for the reduced price of $1 on Sept. 29, 2022. When purchases are made through the Love’s Connect app, all proceeds go to Love’s annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign. My Love Rewards members can get a free coffee or hot drink when they use a free drink refill credit for the purchase, and Love’s will donate $1 on their behalf.
“We can’t think of a better way to celebrate National Coffee Day than by helping sick and injured kids in our communities through CMN Hospitals,” said Jenny Love Meyer, executive vice president, and chief culture officer of Love’s. “Our customers are so generous each year during this campaign, so this deal is a small way to say, ‘thank you.’”
Love’s Travel Stops is the nation’s leading travel stop network with more than 590 locations in 42 states. The most important aspect of celebrating National Coffee Day is to make sure you enjoy a good cup of coffee. It is even better if you can do so with friends and family.
When it comes to how National Coffee Day works, the answer is simple. It is a day to enjoy all that is great about coffee. It is also highly encouraged to take some time to appreciate the world’s coffee farmers who make it possible for everyone to enjoy their morning cup each day.
Promoting fair-trade practices is a major theme of National Coffee Day. Beyond this, the most important thing is to take the opportunity to enjoy coffee and perhaps participate in some National Coffee Day-themed events during the day.
