The community is applauding Jayden Denton for his act of kindness
The intersection of Galbraith Road and Hamilton Avenue is a very busy area of North College Hill, Ohio.
A blind man was crossing the street in a crosswalk. It wasn’t anything new to Terry Strader but something was different, a young man had interlocked arms with Strader in efforts to help him make it safely to the other side of the road.
a 7th-grader at North College Hill Middle School, Jayden was walking home when he noticed Terry Strader standing at the busy intersection of Galbraith and Hamilton. Terry is blind and works at Clovernook.
“Jayden said, ‘Could I assist you across the street?’ and I said, ‘That will be fine,’” according to Strader.
Meanwhile Jayden said, “I just decided to help see if I could help him, see if he wanted help crossing the street.”
This may have gone unnoticed had it not been for a woman who snapped a couple of pictures and posted them on Facebook and the story went viral.
Despite his age Jayden, said he has learned a powerful lesson.
He said, “Not everything is about yourself. Other people might need something from you or need your help or something. Good stuff will come back in return.”
